What size are residential gutters best for my Edmonds house?

You've probably heard the question: "What size gutters should I get for my Edmonds house?" The answer is, of course, it depends.

The size, slope of your roof, and amount of rainfall in your area should all be considered when choosing the right gutter size for your home. In Edmonds homes, we usually install 5K gutters. Consider installing 6K gutters if you have a big roof or live somewhere that gets a lot of rain. Five-inch gutters can serve just fine if you don't get much rain and need smaller gutters for a smaller home.

Suppose you need help deciding what size to choose. In that case, we recommend getting a few estimates from local gutter companies so you can compare prices and get recommendations from each company about which size is right for your Edmonds home.

Are Your Edmonds Gutters Dirty?

Due to the county's frequent rainfall, Edmonds homeowners must regularly clean their gutters. Water can accumulate in gutters clogged with leaves, twigs, and other debris and possibly damage the roof, fascia boards, or even the foundation of a house. Additionally, this water may seep into the home, causing water damage and mold development.

Avoid these issues and maintain the quality of your home by routinely cleaning your gutters. Additionally, by diverting water from your foundation and preventing erosion, clean gutters can help protect your landscaping. Generally, keeping your home and safeguarding your investment requires regular gutter cleaning.

Make sure they provide references and ask for contact information so that you can talk with past customers. You might even ask if they have photos of their work online so that you can see what they have done in the past.

Ask about their experience with gutters and downspouts, especially if your home is older or has unique features that require extra work or expertise when installing new gutters and downspouts.

Visit some of their previous projects on their website to get an idea of how well they do their job, how satisfied customers are with them, and how professional they are.

The area was surveyed by Charles Wilkes in 1841, who named it "Point Edmund" (now Point Edwards).

Pleasant Ewell filed a 147-acre property claim for the region in 1866, and it was sold to many owners until it was bought in 1872 by logger George Brackett, born in Canada. Legend has it that in 1870, while searching for potential logging grounds in his canoe that had been washed ashore after a storm, Brackett found the eventual location of Edmonds.

In 1876, he and his family went to Point Edmund to find a community. They called the region "Brackett's Landing" after they drained a marshland next to the water and started logging it.

As additional people moved there in the following years, a wharf and general store were constructed by 1881.

The neighborhood had been formally platted by 1884. The name "Edmonds" was given to the town's initial post office, possibly as a misspelling for Point Edmund or in honor of George Franklin Edmunds, a Vermont senator that Brackett liked.
